Erika Prafder is the education reporter for The New York Post. Covering this beat for over a decade, Prafder reports regularly on trends in higher education, degrees and programming, financial aid and college life. Prafder also produces and publicizes themed, educational, in-school events, which are aimed at exposing K-12 students to today’s fastest-growing job paths and the most sought-after skillsets.
Upon joining The New York Post in 1998, Prafder penned a weekly workplace column. Her articles served as inspiration and content for her book, Keep Your Paycheck, Live Your Passion (Adams Media, 2005).
Prior to her writing career, Prafder owned and operated Real World Internships/Careers, Inc., an internship and job placement service for college students and recent college graduates. She arranged work experiences for hundreds of applicants in specialized fields including information technology and digital arts.
Prafder holds a bachelor’s degree in Print Journalism from Boston University. She lives in East Atlantic Beach, NY with her husband and three children.
